ML Engineer

Build production AI systems for Nykaa's gaming business. Focus on evals, reliability, and cost — not just prompts. Strong Replit experience preferred.

As a ML Engineer at Nykaa, you'll join a small, senior team building AI-native gaming products from the ground up. You'll work daily with GPT-4, Cursor, Midjourney to design, ship, and scale features that customers use every day. This is a high-ownership role — you'll have direct input on what we build and how we build it.

• Mentor junior builders and contribute to engineering standards
• Build retrieval, RAG, and agent pipelines that scale to thousands of concurrent users
• Architect end-to-end gaming workflows that integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) with internal systems
• Optimise inference cost, latency, and reliability across services
• Collaborate with product, design, and customer teams to translate business problems into AI solutions
• Own the full lifecycle of features — from spec, prototype, A/B test, to rollout
• Lead architectural reviews for new Gaming initiatives

• 7+ years of experience as a ML Engineer or in a closely related role
• Strong written communication — you can document decisions clearly
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or both
• Strong hands-on experience with GPT-4 / Cursor / Midjourney in real production environments
• Bias for shipping — comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end
• Experience with prompt engineering, evals, and prompt-versioning workflows
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, queues, and event-driven design

• Have written publicly (blog posts, talks, OSS) about AI engineering
• Open source contributions to AI / dev-tools projects
• Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or DSPy
• Past work in the Gaming domain
